College Staff Cover Letter

How to Write a Resume

In the job hunt, the single most important tool is a carefully thought-out, attractively designed, well-written RESUME. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you draft a copy and bring it in to the Career and Professional Development office for feedback.

Job Search Letters

Cover Letters
The cover letter introduces your resume and provides context for the reader.  The letter should reflect your personality, enthusiasm, intellect and interest in the organization where you are applying.

Thank You Letters
After your job interview or meeting an employer at a career fair or other networking event, it is important to send a note to thank the interviewer for his/her time.

Accept / Decline / Withdraw Letters
Although accepting or declining a job often occurs verbally, it is best to follow-up with a professional reply in writing.

Dear Ms. Riley,

I read with great interest your ad for an Academic Coordinator in the English Department of your college and am submitting my resume for your review and consideration. As the current Academic Coordinator of the Rosewood Public Schools I would bring the experience of operating within a large school system along with a Master’s in Education to your institution.

In my current position I have made budget recommendations conducted regular class visits and held staff meetings to provide feedback and clarify expectations and responsibilities of the instructional staff. I initiated training for staff on the use of the electronic grading system and assisted in curriculum development. I also devised and supervised the collection of student evaluations. With five years of classroom teaching experience prior to my promotion to Academic Coordinator a current teaching certificate and effective verbal and written communication I’ve been able to provide development coaching and mentoring to the teaching staff.I have demonstrated my ability to work with a diverse population and would like the opportunity to discuss this opportunity further with you.

I look forward to your call at your earliest convenience. I’ll check in with your office next week regarding the status of this open position. Thank you for your time and consideration.
